Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Vehicle Accident
The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in the state of California he was 55 years old.
His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.
The influential game designer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
